Who is an Island Adventures K’gari (Fraser Island) tour best suited for?
- An Island Adventures K’gari tour is a fun and social trip with overnight accommodation in permanently set up tents. It’s ideal for backpackers and active travellers, with the typical age being around 18-35.
Important notes:
- Nomads Noosa is closed for check in’s on Christmas Day. Please select 2 pre or 2 post if booking accommodation with your tour package.
- Optional extra to the package can include 2 nights in a 16 share mixed en-suite dorm at Nomads Noosa which provides the opportunity to get to know the rest of your tour group departure. If this is not for you, there are options to upgrade to a smaller or private room (subject to availability).
- Return trip – you will be driven back to Nomads Noosa at the end of the trip.
- The tour aims to be back in Rainbow between 12noon – 2pm and in Noosa between 3.00 pm – 6.00 pm. It can be earlier or later depending on traffic, cars, beach conditions / tides / delays at ferry etc. We do not recommend any outbound travel on the day of return as you are rarely back in Noosa in time to get the bus. If you are leaving by bus from Rainbow we suggest the latest departure time (late afternoon/early evening).
- There is no wifi at the campsite.
- Drivers need to be 21 yrs + and have 2 years driving experience – License must be written in full English or accompanies by an International drivers license. No photocopies accepted).
- All main meals are prepared by customers while on the island.
- Free luggage storage is available in Noosa or Rainbow Beach.

Accommodation:
- Accommodation on the Island Expeditions tour is in a 2 person dome tent with a foam mattress and pillow (shared with the Swag Adventures camp site).
- Sleeping bag hire (refundable $20 deposit).
- There are no showers (cold beach eco shower only).
